In its constant search for new technological improvements, Azimut avails itself of the R&D Center of the Azimut-Benetti Group.
The research center, located in Varazze, operates in synergy with top Italian university institutes to develop new technological solutions aimed at improving the comfort, safety and environmental compatibility of Azimut boats.
The designs are first tested aboard a special model (K model) and then transferred to standard production.
Several solutions recently developed are already available to the customers.

EASY CRUISING is a system developed for yachts larger than 60 feet to be able to manage all the onboard systems (electrical system, bilge pumps, diesel and water tanks, trim, active and passive stabilization systems, status and alarm history) quickly and easily by means of a simple ergonomic control and a graphic computer.

The EASY HANDLING system, which will go into production starting in 2008, is a system to “assist” in turns. It works by controlling the rudder, the engines and their reverse gears and the flaps and enables:
- at low speed, maximum maneuverability during navigation in narrow waters as well as regulation of the minimum forward speed;
- at medium/high speed, reduction of the boat’s turning circle by up to 30% thus improving response times, stability and safety.

One of the most recent devices developed is the innovative EASY DOCKING JOYSTICK, which facilitates maneuvers in the mooring phase of yacht handling.
The patented control system combines the control of the engines, the bow and stern thrusters and the steering so that by moving a simple, intuitive joystick it is possible to control and execute every movement of the yacht.

Easy Stability, a set of solutions, differentiated according to the boat size, to reduce as much as possible the roll of the yacht both while under way and at anchor.
In particular, the new SEAKEEPER Gyroscope, operating in a vacuum environment, constitutes a revolution with respect to the traditional systems, making it possible to cut roll by up to 60% with the boat at anchor.
