February 25, 2013

A calendar full of events for the Azimut|Benetti Group. At the Istanbul Boat Show scheduled from February 15th to 24th, Azimut Yachts and Atlantis will capture the curiosity of the Turkish market with three novelties and two great classics.

February 2013. There is no denying it, these two months are a period full of novelties and events for the Azimut|Benetti Group. After the positive experience in Düsseldorf in late January, Azimut Yachts and Atlantis are now heading east.

At the Istanbul Boat Show that will officially open its doors on February 15th next there will be no less than three absolute novelties for the Turkish market: for the first time ever Magellano 43, Azimut 55 S and Atlantis 34 will be presented. Next to the premières of this edition, two great classics of Azimut Yachts and Atlantis will be in the spotlights as well: Azimut 64 and the elegant sport yacht Atlantis 48.

The models of the brands Azimut Yachts and Atlantis will be displayed by their respective dealers for Turkey, namely: Sirena Marine, the dealer for Azimut Yachts, and Concept Marine, the dealer for Atlantis. The first novelty is Magellano 43 Fly, which is confirming the success of its bigger brothers, Magellano 50 and Magellano 76, is one of the most captivating surprises of the last boating season, and you can bet that soon it is soon going to conquer the attention of the Turkish market too. Actually, at the end of 2012 it won the Editor s Choice Award s organized by AIM Marine Group, the publisher of some of the most authoritative and prestigious boating magazines in the U.S., and was among the finalists at the 2013 edition of the European Powerboat of the Year award (EPY 2013 ). In only 13 metres it concentrates all the most distinguishing features of the Magellano Collection: soft sailing in all sea conditions and great range. It is a trawler reinterpreted according to the Italian style, especially appreciated by ship owners who do not just sail offshore. Available in two versions - Flybridge and Hard Top - to meet the most different needs, it proves particularly suitable for navigation in inland waters. At the Istanbul Boat Show it will be presented in the Fly version.

Azimut 55 S is instead a yacht with a strong social character: it revolutionizes the traditional spaces, placing the three cabins dedicated to the owner and his guests at the centre of the ship, thereby offering comfort and new volumes also for the crew cabin located at the bow. The new ergonomic approach is also reflected in the spaces of the outer areas: forward with a sofa located in the cruising direction separated by the large sundeck; at the stern with the introduction of the pivoting swim platform, which offers a real terrace on the sea 4 sqm wide. As for performance, the revolution starts from the engine room, which houses a Triple Volvo IPS-1 system: compared to a motorization of the same power with only two engines, the Triple installation actually makes it possible to reduce bulk and length. Furthermore, the choice of three engines, instead of two, opens up a vast chapter reserved for advantages: power output being equal, three engines weigh less than two, use less fuel and produce lower emissions. The reduction in overall weight has been possible partly thanks to the wide use of pure carbon and glassy carbon in the structures and in the hull.

Finally, as for the third and last of the novelties, Atlantis 34 is the latest concept of the Open Yacht Specialist of the Azimut|Benetti Group: a completely new project that aims at being an excellent cruiser as well. The external line, due to a collaboration between Atlantis and Neo Design - which has led, in just two years, to create a range of 5 new models ranging from 34 to 58 feet resumes that of the larger models, characterized by a brawny hull and a streamlined deckhouse-roof. Atlantis 34 is also equipped with two Volvo Penta D3 220HP engines with Duoprop foot for speeds up to 32 knots: high performance, but reduced maintenance requirement. The logical and functional design is one of the flagships of this boat: in less than ten metres there is room for no less than four beds with a double cabin measuring up to 1.95 metres in height amidships, and a large sofa/dinette convertible into a two person bed. Outside, the bathing gangplank is a private swim platform 2.5 sqm wide, which can house a tender measuring up to 2.5 m. Moreover, the table in the outdoor living area, which provides seats for six people, can be transformed into a sundeck, while the roof is equipped with a standard manual soft top. In November 2012 Atlantis 34 won the Boat of the Year prize, awarded by the Italian magazine Vela e Motore.

Alongside the new models, Azimut Yachts and Atlantis also entrust with two show pieces, already highly appreciated by the international public, the task of bearing witness at the Istanbul Boat Show to the excellence and innovation capacity of the Group: Azimut 64, the mid-sized craft in the range that combines excellent performance and beautiful design, and Atlantis 48, the sporty cruiser elegant in style that has renewed the generation of open yachts. For Azimut Yachts and Atlantis the Turkish market has always been very receptive. The presence of five models, three of which are absolute novelties for the local market testifies to the group s attention to the country, not least thanks to Azimut s wonderful collaboration with the dealers in Turkey, Sirena Marine and Concept Marine, probably the most prestigious and structured realities in the Turkish marine industry.
